much preferred transfers in the teletext days, rather than the internet days.

check page 390: Sunderland linked with x

check it a couple days later: Sunderland agree fee for x

check it a couple days later: x signs for sunderland

job done.

Why?

Every transfer window people say "we need to pull the plug" etc whenever there is a report that a fee has been agreed and the player doesn't sign within a day.

Why should we "pull the plug"? Why not let him make his own decision in his own time?

Are people that scared of rejection that they would rather terminate the deal than face him choosing a different option of his own accord?

As the OP said, give him a couple of days, he doesn't need any longer than that, then move on. It's not fear of rejection it's trying to preserve a degree of dignity for the club rather than be bent over backwards by his agent and slowly arse fucked.

Aye, you could even ring team talk if totally desperate. Now I'm on here every two f***ing minutes. Even when there's shite all happening.

HaveTE="gipetto, post: 18222288, member: 26724"]I can't help but think Borini outgrew us whilst he was here.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if he signs for us. Even more so after experiencing disney land and tootsie rolls in America.[/QUOTE]
Have it on good authority, he loves Saveloy Dips

Exactly. It isn't like Borini is new to the club and needs to check out the facilities and area. It isn't like this bid should've come as a surprise to him. If he really wanted to be here i'd expect him to have his suitcase packed and ready.
My opinion is this tour has bought him or rather his agent a few days. Soon they know there'll be no excuses to delay. That might put a gun to his head but we should be seriously thinking about making the decision for him if that's the case.
Believe me, i want to sign Borini but only in the right circumstances. My knowledge of sports and contracts puts a slight cloud over this deal now, even if it goes ahead.
