Latest from LT at The Guardian, after a 'loyalty' payment per chance?
IF true it doesnt look like he wants to come here, loads of reports from italy saying he doesnt want to come here and is holding out for a move back home or to stay at liverpool. Not to sure how i feel about that tbh, i dont expect him to sign right away but if he is seeing us as third place can he really be that happy here?.

I'm sure he's been sounded out prior to a bid being made, I'm pretty sure he'll come, eventually....

I agree - I'm sure there will have been some communication - at the end of the day it's up to the lad himself - I'd love him to come and am his biggest fan but if his heart isn't 100 per cent in a move then I'm sure Gus will move on - would be a shame but that's life.

It's impossible to tell what's going on so let's wait and see and hope the rumours are just rumours.

Aye fingers crossed.

Is 14 million going to become the mythical figure we're paying rather than the actual fee?

It's like when we signed Turner mate. The press had us down paying 12m - yet we actually paid 4m.

The overall deal for Borini is probably around 14m - if he performs - but I'd be amazed if we are paying more than 10m up front

This ^

There's no way the club would allow this to go as far if Borini didn't want to join.

If he doesn't sign there will be a meltdown, I agree though why'd the club leave themselves in a position to be criticized if it falls through.

Some Boro fan is trying to take the piss out of us for paying £14M for Borini?

This is a club that is struggling to sign Danny Graham for £1M.
The same lad that back in 2007 when they were a Premier League club released him as they thought he wasn't good enough for them!

What a massive fall for them and with Gibson's money drying up they look destined to remain in the Championship for a long time.
Boro fans want to remember how much they paid for Alves and Maccarone

I watched his first interview when he signed for Liverpool with interest. At the start of the youtube video (obviously I don't know if it was accurate) it lists that there were significant add ons for Liverpool to pay subsequent to the fee. I wonder if they have decided that the return will be very good if they don't have to pay those additional payments.

Further to that the interview was very interesting and told you quite a bit about the personality of Borini. He is an ambitious, clever young man who appears to have the perfect professional attitude. It was the third time that he had worked with Rodgers, he seemed to have great respect for him and I assume that he will listen to what Rodgers has said. I get the feeling that Rodgers is towing the clubs party line and by saying that Sunderland a great club as his club has agreed the deal but in reality he probably doesn't want to sell him. At the end of the video Rodgers is interviewed and he outlines Borini's strengths, quite interesting.
