Didn't someone off here say SAFC financial year ends 31 July and NUFC was end of June hence why they splashed the cash early July. Maybe a coincidence that 2 days before August 1st were talking to him now and could possibly push it over the line early August?

If Borini was not remotely interested in signing then the situation regarding his shoulder is completely irrelevant. Poyet makes reference to his shoulder being a reason for holding things up. Therefore as we stand the player is considering signing for us. We have also suddenly 'dropped' our interest in a left sides player in CR. Poyet seems frustrated re other targets i.e Alonso, however, he seems relaxed re Borini. I have said it all along but I think he will sign for us, just may take longer than people would like.
