I'm glad someone raised this. My thoughts exactly. He's the Connor Wickham of England international cricket.

But we have an ironical problem if we try to get rid of him. Who could replace him as a bowler? He's very effective in that role - but a proven dead loss as a batsman.
 
Gives the impression that he has zero belief in his own ability. There must be a better 'bits and pieces' player than him in county cricket?
 
has he ever managed to see England to victory? Always seems to get in then out at the key moment. Move on.

Exactly, Mascharenas was saying what a great knock it was and how it showed what Bopara's all about. I said to my mate he has proved what he's all about, a bottler who only scores runs when there's no pressure.
