have seen someone do it before stopped car on the bridge - got out and went straight over (wife and young kid in the car at the time) not a nice sight

it was horrific but it happened so fast tbh . It was my BIL who called the emergency services. they found the body between the piers about 6 hrs later and also heard/read ?? that he also had mental problems as well
 
went over wearmouth bridge about 7 o'clock and there was police and fire brigade. Police were taking statements by the looks of it. It wasn't in the middle, it was towards st peters metro. Glad I was driving and couldn't see owt. Horrible for anyone involved.

Aye went for a run down there and park next the metro at sheepfolds. As we were coming over the bridge just before 7 there was a couple of shocked looking coppers running all over and then the ambulance and a copper car took off towards the riverside.

Person must have been in a bad way to hoy themselves over the top.....very sad!
 
Must be some serious problems if you even think about jumping off a bridge.
 
People say its the cowards way out, is it fuck. Takes massive balls to decide to end your life.
 
don't want to sound disrespectful at all but I know of two lads who've jumped to their deaths from bridges in the past 6 or 7 years, both were high on drugs at the time. no less tragic for that mind, but not necessarily suicides in the true sense.
 
Awful thing for his folks. Not just the actual event but all the unanswered questions and the guilt even though theres nowt to be guilty about they do wonder if they did this, or if they`d said that coming up 6 months since my BiL`s do and our lass and her family still wonder
