Blinded by the Kits ?

I'm firmly in the KLD out camp, but to say that the kits were some sort of conspiracy to hide how bad they are at everything seems a bit silly. They had to release a kit and it was in everyone's interests that it was popular. They haven't done anything wrong with the kit (Although it's just a kit and people who are dadding themselves over it are wrong 'uns) Yes they'll be happy how things have went and how it's masked their failings a bit, but what else were they supposed to do ? Release a horrible kit that nobody liked ?
When you lay it out like that it’s a quite mental take

You must be aware that timing is a key tactic.
You see it with the government and other organisations, timing the release of good news or good things to deflect from bad news, or to gain favour at vital times. It’s commonplace.

Let’s see what the squad looks like at the end of the transfer window, and how we get on in league matches. At the moment it looks like no change.

It’s alright man we can just play Neil there and watch him struggle aswell

We don’t need a defensive midfielder.

Our style doesn’t need one supposedly.
It just seems like Speakman is picking up ‘forwards’ randomly with a view to the coach just getting on with things and making the best of it without actually trying to match players to the strengths of other players eg wingers to cross the ball in accurately to the big man or creative midfielders who can thread a ball through the opposition defence accurately for a cf to run onto. Or even forwards working off each other.
My mind takes me back to the Quinn / Phillips combination who were brilliant together and much more than their individual talents would anticipate. Similarly, when we had Summerbee he could pin-point a cross accurately for Quinn to knock the ball down for Phillips. Currently, apart from solo efforts by the likes of Clarke, we seem to have little cohesion in the front line of our team.

Because Quinn and Phillips were effectively “two up front” and we seem to want a lone striker capable of doing it all.
It’s a tall order.
Unfortunately the coaches seemed to choose to play without a striker rather than work out attacking formations with what we have. It’s quite clear that all our “strikers” need help so I would like to see “two up top” at least as an experiment!
We might as well go for it, as we will be beaten as we are.

There's plenty to complain about with KLD and co. I just don't think they could have done anything else with this, they had to release it some time in the summer. Although I take your point about timing things, I don't think it's made a lot of difference. The whole summer has been underwhelming, whether it's because we had to settle for our eighth choice coach or because we have again totally failed to address the shortcomings of the team. To people who give a shit about football kits, it would have been welcome whenever it came. Personally, I can't get my head around how people are so happy with a football kit personally, but I seem to be in a minority.

Aye the kits are class.

But a week and a half away from the season starting and we haven’t addressed the single biggest weakness.

A weakness we’ve had since Stewart went off injured at Fulham and Simms was recalled by Everton.
100% this

And anyone they buy! The pressure just mounts..

Be a couple of loans

The fact that the club makes little money from the actual sales maybe points towards Hummel and Fanatics choosing the release dates? Maybe.
Or perhaps it was just when our kits came off the production line?
I doubt it.
I’m keen to see what rabbit they will pull out of the hat to soften the blow of Clarke, Ballard and Patto leaving 😂
Revved up like a deuce another runner in the night
Stitched up like douches more like.
