Blast Quarter Finals

Pleased for Somerset as I said earlier in
the thread 12 wins out of 14 group games tremendous effort.

Would have been a shame for one knockout game to knock them out of finals day.

Do think going forward the top two teams from each group should go straight to finals day with the other teams fighting out the remaining two places, can’t see it happening though

Agree there has to be a bit more of a reward for finishing first/second than just a home semi final. Some teams are better away, and there's always the chance you could blow it in one game even after a good group campaign.

And you may not even get a home game, and have to go to a neutral venue if England are in town, as Yorkshire and Lancs have had to do, and lost, in the past. Although that can easily be solved with better scheduling of internationals so that they don't clash with the Blast QFs, of course

Would you advocate that for the Championship, third straight to Wembley, fourth and fifth play off? It has done merit I suppose even if it wouldn’t have helped us this year.
