That's totally the ECB's own doing though. Which also gives us the ridiculous scenario of a five match Ashes series being done before the start of August. They have to squeeze everything in to a small window
No they don’t they can get rid of the 100 and make the blast the flagship white ball game. They have to squeeze everything in to a small window
ECB still trying to force the shitty Hundred on all. They have failed miserably, not a patch T20. Nobody outside of England interested with another format of the game. I went to the T20 finals day last year, tremendous entertainment and day out.Another example of the ECB undermining the competition with only two of the quarter finals being televised because three of them are on Friday.
In the past they've either been on four different days or two at the very least to ensure they could all be televised.
T20 always been brilliant entertainment mate, tournaments like the blast and IPL great watch.ECB still trying to force the shitty Hundred on all. They have failed miserably, not a patch T20. Absolutely amazing experience mate.T20 always been brilliant entertainment mate, tournaments like the blast and IPL great watch.
Bet finals day was great mate
The Ashes has been squeezed into fewer than 50 days with two back to back every time since 2009. Even 2001 and 2005 had one back to back. Got to go back to the last century for anything approaching a traditional tour. Finishing before July is the new bit for the you know what. The Ashes has been squeezed into 45 days, the CC and 50 over comps marginalised, the Blast vandalised. And all for a competition nobody wants and that excludes half the country.
We tried to warn everyone, blame the people who supported the 16.4 in the first place.
I’m there this year having been several times as a neutral but this’ll be the first since Covid. It’s a cracking day out.ECB still trying to force the shitty Hundred on all. Would really fancy it always looks a great dayAbsolutely amazing experience mate.
Yep, those 3-5 extra rest days between games are a big loss. Basically one day between each game lost. The Ashes has been squeezed into fewer than 50 days with two back to back every time since 2009. No argument at all there. And played when no school kids can attend. Heartbreaking what they're doing to our game.
No worries chief, pick away!I’m not meaning to be picky so I’ll apologise in advance if I come across as that but that’s not really what happened. The first back to back tests in England at the beginning of the century were seven days apart. It’s the ICC rules that have made them a minimum of three rest days between (and left it impossible to have the Sydney test on New Year’s Day).
And when we had two weeks between each Thursday start, it wasn’t for a rest, they played a county match.
No argument at all there.
Yep. That's the cause. It's an absolute disgrace what they've done in pursuit of pushing something nobody wanted.ECB still trying to force the shitty Hundred on all. Eighteen franchises?I love the Blast. I have been to five of the last ten finals days that were allowed crowds and I’m going this year even though it’s about a hundred notes. But it still isn’t a world class tournament. The eighteen franchises do spread the talent too thin. We can’t be completely in denial about that.
