Blame almost entirely at Moyes door.

Rewind prior to his appointment we had finished the season on a high and since January had been demonstrating almost European qualification form.

Sam had managed Kirkchoff one of the classiest players we had employed so he was available and the team played with spirit and belief.

Within two games Moyes had declared us a relegation candidates and destined us to lose over $100 million in TV money for another season.

Valuable assets like Defoe were allowed to leave for free and all other players like Lens, Khazri, Kone suffered dramatic falls in value.

We were forced to sell Pickford albeit for $30 million which pales into insignificance on the loss of TV revenue and depreciation of other assets.

The stringent cost cutting like letting Mannone go and replacing him with the three stooges would not have happened had we retained our Premier League status.

Wages for Moyes apologists like Gibson , Lescott Piennar and Anichibe diluted any positive effect from the Pickford sale.

He basically signed clowns like Dilibodgy and the Everton dementia squad to bolster his narcissistic image in a dressing room he had lost.

We were heavily in debt before he spunked the 30 million but had a far better chance of reducing it by capitalising on inflated values of Premier League players than the cost cutting measures directly resulting from his negativity and dinasaur approach to the game.

Moyes is a loser in life and add Rodwell to list...Does not matter how much money you have in your accounts or power you have to influence society you can still be a loser in life

You're not too far off imo....would have been interesting to see how BSA would have dealt with the cut in budget

He isn't almost entirely to blame but he takes his share. There's a chance we'd still be in the PL if he'd been peddled when he should have.

He certainly instilled a negative culture in the club that runs right through it now.

He was an unmitigated disaster at this club, mind, and I absolutely detest the bastard.

I agree with you.

Moyes was the catalyst that brought all the long term negative vibes around SAFC into one powerful downward plunge and he ,in my eyes is the biggest culprit of the lot.
He's an absolutely hateful twat.

People hate McMenemy and rightfully so but, this wanker put zero effort into the job here and, as you say, was the catalyst for our demise.
We'd been circling the plughole for years but he wiped away all belief and positivity in no time and it's been downhill ever since.

His transfers were a disgrace, Allaemrdyce's scouting and his old mates, regardless of current ability and as I say, zero effort whatsoever.

So we were fine for the other 9 years? Stop being daft!

So is Steve Bruce finally off the hook seven years and 10 managers later? Poor bloke was still getting the blame last week.

Hard to argue with the OP.

His tactics and team selections alone should have had him fired at Christmas - and that is one of the bits where the blame lies at Short's door.

I'd add to the list 'The alienation of any player with attacking flare by either not playing them or using the slowest central midfield ever to isolate them'. How Pienaar got game time over Khazri, I'll never know.

Was £30m a cut in the budget?
Why do you think it is obligatory for you to jump into any criticism of Moyes
Was £30m a cut in the budget?
Moyes was horrendous for the club and I don't understand why in this thread criticising him rightly, you feel the need to switch it to a reason for drawing attention to the fact that you support Short .
This thread is about Moyes so just slag the cretin off like everyone else and keep your (I'm curious as to why) personal agenda out of it.

Spot on.
I think to this day he would have been gone had we lost at Bournemouth in Nov.
1-0 down after five minutes and fans chanting Sam’s name.
Wish we’d got f***ing slaughtered looking back now.
Moyes is a nuclear grade twat.

Bruce was probably a victim of his own success to be fair, he did put together the best team we had since the reid days but somehow managed to get into a relegation scrap. Also he had no idea how to win our easiest games of the season against the mags, something no manager since has had any trouble with :)
