*~*~* Blackburn v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

There's a reason we don't make subs....he doesn't trust the bench and rightly so. Can't think of a game where subs have come on and changed the game for the better? From recollection, we actually look worse!
Every time the utterly unwanted adil has come on, he's done quite well.
Alecsis looked decent in his one game
Connolly scored, then hadn't had a kick since
Aleese is decent enough
Poveda must be half decent for a 5min run out

Otherwise you never really find out if they're any good

Anyone who cant see theres a player in Mayenda is clueless.

Disappointing not to win that but a point away to 4th, the in form team in the league is never a bad result.

Finishing quality will be our Achilles heel this season. We don’t create enough so rely on superb efforts - but you can’t expect three of these every match. Mayenda should probably won it at the end but it is what it is - not the craft to either slot it or take it round him. Shame.
Agreed and it was nice to see A) A tap in-Rigg B) Genius from Izzy
More tap-ins please and less goalmouth scrambles that lead to goals ffs
That was their ONLY chance of note 2nd half. 2 points dropped.

First half we weren't very good, second half we were very good. All done with a young team and some injuries. Only three points off auto promotion against teams who have spent considerably more than us. Overall happy with point..oh and the ref was good as well.

Reading some of the comments it’s very obvious that many don’t understand football at all.

Absolutely clueless from some. Borderline mental from others.

We were poor in the first half due to their organisation. The opposition are allowed to put up an effort you know.

Second half we changed things in possession, Dan Neil dropped in between the centre backs and we created plus ones at the back and on both wide areas with full backs pushing on.

We should have got a third, we should have defended the back stick better (and prevented the cross) for their second but it happens.

A good point when we take all three at Stoke.

Couple of additions in January. Mundle back. The elusive Samed fit. Could be very close to autos at the end of the season.
I think we're gonna need that. Cos the coach obviously doesn't trust 99% of the bench.

Unless he's just stubborn

He was on the pitch when we went 2-1 up and were absolutely battering them.
He's raw and will be in and out of games, but RLB obviously rates him as good enough to start.
I agree that he should've been subbed, mind. I think Aouchiche would've replaced him if Rigg hadn't had to go off.

I just hope Rigg is OK...

But there were some moments when we were vulnerable even when in control and that was through Mayenda. The incident leading to O’Nien’s card was a result of Mayenda’s rawness and tiredness. And he looked tired prior to that.

I don’t think he played well, but I don’t think he should be crucified. The manager should have looked after him far better this afternoon.
