Good knowledge. Not saying this didn’t happen but we are taking about how BLM came about and why it’s still an issue today. I can’t say I know any of my relatives were taken to Algeria by Muslim slave traders. The reason George Floyd was killed was because he was black. A white man who had just allegedly used a fake $20 bill wouldn’t have even been arrested let alone had his neck knelt on for almost 9 minutes
 
The black lives matter movement should be aimed at the police and the police alone. American police are a joke the way they handle situations but in many states it takes longer to become a barber than to become a policeman.

That’s insane. It takes you longer to be qualified to cut someone’s hair than be allowed to walk the streets with a gun.

Understandably police can get jittery when it’s legal for everyone else to carry guns but a lot of the videos circulating such as the most famous one of the knee on the neck don’t involve guns so that argument goes out of the window there.

BLM are turning it into something else and there’s far too many left wing antifa anarchists jumping on the bandwagon therefore removing its popularity among “normal” people. I’m not talking far right or anything like that, I’m talking normal everyday people, people who aren’t racist and just want to get by in life with no drama.

Destroying statues is not the way to go, why try to erase history, it’s ridiculous. Attacking police is not the way to go, especially in this country. London is one of the most multicultural cities in the world.

The whole thing has turned into a joke and scumbags in USA are using a mans death as an opportunity to loot and commit crimes, further heightening racial tensions as most of the videos Surfacing of looters have a large element of ethnic minority people acting like animals

There is good and bad in every race. The American police needs to change, stop trying to make it a problem over here when it isn’t a problem!!

It’s uniting some of the country, particularly the young In cities and I think the slogan is very smart as I think the vast majority of us would agree that black lives do matter.

the issue is whether the grievances of black people in this country are addressed and will this be a mechanism for change.

It’s actually a complex and difficult situation played out in a simplistic and binary world of social media, which is extremely dangerous.

Would be less dangerous if we didn’t already have a divided country over Brexit and the last election. But we do.

Yet when you look at the basic numbers, the percentage of deaths in English hospitals that have been white (87.1%) is greater than the population in England from the census 9 years ago (85.3% and this percentage is probably even lower in 2020). How many also consider that London was the epicenter and in the 2011 census it was around 60% of blacks lived in London (13.3% on London's popuplation). Asians were 18.3% of London's population and 10.8% in the West Midlands in 2011 which was also hit by COVID-19. Yet Asians are only 4.3% of the England deaths and were 7.8% of the England population in 2011 which will probably be higher now.

How many who donated to that GoFundMe that raised over £1,000,000 know the BLM want to abolish the police? How many even know what BLM is about or even knew the existed 4 weeks ago?

There were loads of BLM protests last year but nobody batted an eyelid. Unfortunately the only way people sit up and take note is if there is a bit more aggression. Not condoning violence or destruction of property but we remember the LA Riots, the London riots. When politics fails people take to the streets. It resulted in the officer being charged for second degree murder and the others complicit in that. It has caused a change in using the choke hold method. Police may now think twice about shooting a man in the back or when he’s on the floor unarmed.

As in the policeman intentionally killed someone because of their skin colour in front of cameras and a crowd?

You must have watched the video. They only found traces of narcotics in his bloods and he was released from prison 13yrs ago. He was treated as a criminal first and foremost as that is how black people have been made to be seen. Caged animals that are criminals. It’s all about fear! Our version is Farage and his vilification of immigrants.

As a person who worked in recruirment, I can honestly say I never once experienced any preferential treatment of white people. Best man for the job always seemed to get it. In the UK, everyone gets an education, everyone can claim benefits. If people decide education is not for them, what are the authorities supposed to do?
