Was playing for Horden Seconds away to Gateshead Fell years ago,had my driving test on the Monday,so my brother said I could drive his car to the match for practice.

About 20 yards away from the ground hit a kerb quite hard turned car round and I panicked tried to hit the brakes but instead sped into a tree wrote the car off.

All the other lads were behind us and seen what happened.

To top the day off after getting car towed away went into bat number 7 (normally open) and was out first ball caught behind.

First day of pre-season nets at Uni. Everyone was running up at a gentle pace and bowling looseners. Seeing this as my opportunity to impress, I tore in at full pace, tripped in my delivery stride, went arse over tit, headbutted the floor and landed on the ball! Agony
