Bid rejected for Clarke

Whilst signalling to Patterson, Neil, Roberts etc that we've no interest in furthering their careers either
I was going to add that in the other post - 4 new signings would have been sold on a successful season, premier push and playing with most of the team that finished 6th, especially Jobe imo

If speakman wants promotion this year no way can we let Clarke go. He also needs to splash the cash on a couple quality players to take us to next level. The fans have bought into the club again let's hope its not a let down this season.
If Clarke is happy to stay then absolutely we should not sell. He seems an excellent young man but we’ve seen time and again that once players heads are turned it’s pointless keeping them. I’d like to think he’d give his all for another season but 15-17.5 million is the territory I’d seriously consider selling if he wants away.

Ballard cost 2 million up front on his own, and I don't know what % sell on fee Arsenal had put in on the deal ,m if any. Clarke was more them figures on his own, and Levy would defo have had a sell on fee in place. We wouldn't be making 37 million profit , even if the prices were correct.

Nailed on Ballard and Clarke will be worth more than them figures at the end of this season (Injuries permitting) Sell this late in the window, and any profit will be eaten away by higher prices for players we want, if they know we have the cash.

Even if you take away the % that we have to give to Arsenal/Spurs then we will still be in the green.

I hope to god they all stay but we knew this day was coming, if they feel like they’ve outgrown the club already and want to go then let them, just have faith in our recruitment that we will reinvest that money properly.

That's where we differ mate.
Progression from play offs, has to be top 2.
Par for this year is play offs.
Anything less is regression.
Last season was a bit of a free hit but considering that we ended up finishing top 6 despite the fact that we basically didn't have a striker for 2/3rds of the season, anything other than finishing in the play-offs again should be regarded as a failure.

Keith Downie can fuck off, stirring twat.

Personally, not interested in the slightest in a bid with add ons. Maybe a % of sell on.

Should be £20m minimum!

No benefit to us selling for any less.
Downie is full of c.rap.

The article is full of suppositions, nothing factual there at all and unless Burnley themselves directly come out with an offer of £20m then it's not
even worth reading fiction from the likes of Downie

James Trafford 19m to Burnley with only L1 experience. Clarke worth less with 3 years left on his contract ?
As for Stewart, no one in their right minds inc SAFC should offer a better deal to him until proven fit and back to where he was as a player. So that story will run and run til January in my opinion, unless a club take a gamble at a price we are happy to sell at.

I was hoping this was over and done with and Burnley had moved on.

Have a look at that YouTube video they put up showing every one of our goals from last season.

Very few of them he isn't involved in, and even fewer that either him and/or Amad don't contribute to.

Our biggest asset at present and would be our worst decision in years if we let him go this year. He is pivotal to this team in many ways than one
