Bid rejected for Clarke

Ne1 nars what it is, even if there is one to start with

At the time of the deal there were very good sources to suggest it was 20/30%. That's why we got him for so low upfront price.

You're right though it's not confirmed.

Absolutely no way we got him for £2m without the deal being back loaded i.e a massive sell on %. Levy isn’t stupid enough to let a player he paid £10m for just £2m flat.

Unless he wants to go there’s nothing to be gained by selling him. If Speakman is serious about a top 2 push, you’re not going to replace a player with 24 goal contributions unless you spend £15-£20m and those players aren’t going to sign for a championship club.

Really hope he stays, great lad, great player and pivotal to us having a proper go next year.

Spot-on. A £10m profit in the bank doesn't contribute those goals and someone of that quality won't be wanting to play in the Championship. We lucked out with Clarke so let's keep him til next summer and see how the land lies.
