Bid rejected for Clarke

If Clarke leaves i hope he is sensible and moves somewhere he is going to get the chance to play every week - we will get good value for him -
personally I have found him a joy to watch - reminds me of waddle - languid style but creates havoc and often delivers genius
He's been as important as Amad for me in the best footballing SAFC side I have ever seen - dont sit on the bench anywhere son - your better than that
Aye. I love the lad, my favourite current player. But I don’t begrudge him should he go, as long as it is an improvement and not just a financial one.

This. Obviously if someone comes in and offers daft money then will be difficult for the lad, but he’s at a club where he seems to be enjoying life. Hope we get him for at least another season. For some reason I actually think he might stay rather than take the cash and a bench…

I honestly cannot envisage Clarke playing for us next season. Imo he is our best player by a country mile but we will not pay Premiership wages while in the Championship. He is already too good to be playing at this level and is likely to be offered several multiples of his current salary by a Premiership club.

Obviously he will not want an experience like the one he had at Spurs but given assurances about playing time I think he will end up at a lower half Prem team.

That said, I would rather we sold anyone before Jack Clarke.

He’s a talented boy and was quite obviously one of our best performers but I think he’s a way to go before being a consistent top flight player. His decision making at times can be iffy and at times he gets caught in possession in his own half (often attempting to do the right thing but not executing it). Those things can be far more costly in the top flight.

All that said, there is clear top flight interest and if we’re offered a fee over £10m the club will have to consider it and if suitors are even thinking about the types of sums being offered then Clarke will have to consider it.

Progression wise, I think he’d benefit from another season at this level and maturing a bit before having another crack at the top flight (ideally with us!) but I’d be surprised if thats what the outcome will be.

Totally agree but he’s never ever going to be guaranteed to start every week at any Prem club next season I wouldnt have thought.

Lets remember as fantastic as he is, He’s going from playing up against some stiff divis at times to the likes of Kyle Walker and Wan Bissaka so he wouldnt be afforded the time to be given game after game. He’d have to hit the ground running from the off which isnt easy.

The money will surely be tempting but I honestly think he’s best placed to stay with us for at least another season and be the main man week in week out.

I agree with that but i wouldn’t personally be accepting anything below £20 million. Time to show we wont be pushed over

We dont need to sell plus spurs are rumoured to have a sell on clause although we dont know how much

Its gunna be interesting though when we inevitably make our first big sale

Do we sign another unproven kid with no games or a more proven youngster? Interesting summer ahead i think

If the player becomes unsettled and wants away then it becomes difficult for us to get close to that figure. I just can’t see it.

It’ll be very difficult for the club to recruit players to replace the goals and contributions provided by Amad and Clarke. If Stewart’s situation isn’t resolved and he departs then the recruitment team have really got their work cut out. Just purely in goals scored that’d be about 40 to replace (and that’s not even considering their wider contributions to the side). I certainly don’t think we’ve anyone currently on the books able to step up and fill that void.

Yer i totally trust the recruitment team but losing them 3 would be suicide, asking for trouble.

Honesty dont know whats gunna happen with stewart. I cant see speakman/kld letting him run his contract and go for free but who is gunna buy him hes going to miss pre season and had a few injuries lately

Harvey clearly is competent. But signing u23s for buttons will only yield results to a particular level and luck runs out sometimes with those types of signings and you can’t just rely on them.

Whatever money is raised from sales will have to be reinvested really well. I suppose this is when we see what this much discussed ‘model’ is about!

As i say be interesting to see our replacement for our first big sale

Makes me think the lad from chile would be clarkes replacement considering the rumoured fee

Not that i know a thing about him mind!
