Clarke stats are through the roof for a winger,would be poor by the club if they accept anything other than eye watering bid
 
20m at least, seriously the only reason the likes of crystal palace and Brentford would have chance is because they are premier league and can offer more wages, imagine the step down going from us to them though

Because of ffp the most we can possibly offer the lad is probably 30k. A prem team can double if not more.

Ya looking at an increase of 30k a week wages. If Clarke chooses to turn that down good on him. If SAFC get an acceptable bid and he accepts not a soul could possibly blame him (even though they will no doubt).

How can you say everything is in our favour? We can’t match what others can offer, not by a long stretch, and as a championship club we couldn’t turn down anything close to 20 million.

If your employer refused to let you leave for double your wage if not more, would you be happy with it?

I think we need to accept he’s off assuming a better bid comes in. It’s the model, we don’t hold only valued assets under the model we sell them and use the money to reinvest wisely. You’ll get a lot of championship quality for this sort of money. Let’s see the clubs resolve.
 
20mil we would sell and reinvest. As long as we get value for money and reinvest it to improve several positions, then I get it and will trust the club. Its the nature of our model and of where we are at as a club right now. Better players in this division are always going to be in demand, especially if they're young when making their mark

Everything is in our favour in terms of his contract, they either pay the fee or we don't sell. It's not a Ross Stewart who is going into his last year.


Also look at what Joao Pedro has gone for, that's the deal.

I’ve not seen anything about what % is owed to Spurs.

Regardless anything over 20 million would be decent money. So 15-18 up front and add ons would likely take it in excess of that if he does well.

But the club need to also think about what our wider budget is. We are clearly putting a massive amount of trust in Speakman and the scouting team. As such I’d back ourselves that provided all money is reinvested we could do a lot across 3 or 4 players that would make the overall team and squad stronger.

If we would otherwise have a small budget this summer it might need to be a transaction we do for the wider benefit of building the squad
 
We have history letting players leave for buttons whereby the rest of the football world seem capable of negotiating inflated fee’s we are often only too happy to let players go on the cheap.

I can see this lad being sold for sommet shite like £12m then him costing someone like Everton, Wolves or Newcastle £45m in 18 month after a decent season in the PL :confused:
