Bid rejected for Clarke

In actuality his stats are exceptional already.... the other two aren't
antonys stats are far superior to anything clarke has ever done..because he has done it at much higher levels...
clarke literally wouldnt get a game for the clubs antony has played for as an adult..wouldnt get on their bench..

Wed have much better chance with him than without him

Again you know this

Luton have a model?
Sheff Utd? Etc

We've not sold him, and we won't unless a f***ing big bid comes in.

You do get how the footballing pyramid works don't you? You are aware that we're not Man City and that we do have to sell players from time to time? The only thing we can do well is get as much as we can for the player and reinvest.

I bet you didn't even know who Clarke was before our recruitment team got hold of him and we made him into the player he is now. I'm sure they'll have replacements lined up IF a big offer comes in.

Whether this is true or not…it might help us that he’s been sold for big money and not delivered before.

How much more than 9m are a club willing to risk on that happening again? I’m not sure it’s as much as his value to us staying here and helping us get promoted.

I did know who Clarke was and I know keeping our better players gives us better chances to progress

and what's Man City got to do with anything?

We'd make around 3m profit in total once Spurs get their share.

There's really no discussion to be had until an offer hits around the 20m mark as a starting point.

no one would be stupid enough to pay more than £20m for a player who has failed at that level before..

clarke has 9 in 45 for last season-in the championship...thats one in five...antony has one if five in the premier league..

i know there league positions over recent seasons...thats a nice place to start,...
OK....and Anthony Gordon? ....who is rumoured to be on 145k pw at the mags

I agree we should keep Clarke but you're massively simplistic when it comes to selling players.

If we got 25m for Clarke and 15 for Patterson (just as an example!). You should be able to build a stronger squad and improve every area of the team with £40m plus any budget we had.

It's why Brentford sold Watkins and benrahma for around 50m while in the championship. Why did they not go backwards then?
