Great news, obviously other prem teams can come in for him but I’d be hoping we could add a bit more in terms of wages onto the contract extension that was rumoured a couple weeks backYou must be logged on to see media items

So we complain we don't get enough coverage but at the same time we shouldn't let him through the door.Downie needs to start getting a hard time whenever his bosses force him to come to the SOL. He shouldn't be let through the door.
Burnley had Tella last year who scored around 14 goals but Southampton want £15 m for him and see Clarke as cheaper option but we should make sure he isn’t by sticking out for £15 m too.
Good news. Also shows we won't be pushed around or entertain stupid bids for players. You must be logged on to see media items
I don’t want to be correct and personally hope the lad stays and yes it’s Burnley who most likely will come back down. But from Clarkes point of view it puts him in a much bigger shop window for when that happens. He may not go to Burnley and those rejected offers might have them look elsewhere, which seem to be the case, however Clarkes head to me has now been turned and I think it’s only a matter of time before a bid big enough is accepted, be it Burnley or whoever, but I do think the lad will go unfortunately. If I’m wrong then I’m more than glad to be proven so.You were right about that it appears![]()
He undoubtedly goes next summer if we don’t get promoted. Also we’ll be doing this dance in January unless we’re right in the mix.I don’t want to be correct and personally hope the lad stays and yes it’s Burnley who most likely will come back down. Fair enough mate. All about opinions.I don’t want to be correct and personally hope the lad stays and yes it’s Burnley who most likely will come back down. I thought that until recently where it has been quoted from people within the club that Clarke was unhappy that the final bid was turned down.Fair enough mate. All about opinions.
Fwiw, I don't think the lads head will be turned. I think if we are still in this position next summer, then we will lose him, but not this year from his point of view.
If a huge offer came in, then the club might have other ideas, but it seems unlikely, and the lad seems more than happy and settled.
I hope you are correct. He undoubtedly goes next summer if we don’t get promoted. Also we’ll be doing this dance in January unless we’re right in the mix.
What people from within the club had been quoted?I thought that until recently where it has been quoted from people within the club that Clarke was unhappy that the final bid was turned down.
I hope you are correct.
His agent has been quoted twice saying he is very happy and someone who knows his lass's family said the same on here.I thought that until recently where it has been quoted from people within the club that Clarke was unhappy that the final bid was turned down.
I hope you are correct.
I tend to take "sources from within the club said" quotes with a pinch of salt mate.I thought that until recently where it has been quoted from people within the club that Clarke was unhappy that the final bid was turned down.
I think a big bid is possible later in the window if there’s a chain of sales. Maybe Palace (although I’d put a bet on them going for Amad personally). But thinking about who might be interested in him - and imagining who he may be interested in - I’m not seeing a tonne of natural landing spots right now. If he has the season we all expect him to next year, he’ll have far more options - and will only be 23.I thought that until recently where it has been quoted from people within the club that Clarke was unhappy that the final bid was turned down.
I hope you are correct.
Good news. Also shows we won't be pushed around or entertain stupid bids for players.
Now let's move-on, add to our forward options and have a right go this season.
I saw that mentioned by Fishpaste. Was there a source for that?I thought that until recently where it has been quoted from people within the club that Clarke was unhappy that the final bid was turned down.

Seems to be a popular belief, but if I'm honest, since KLD got control last year, the evidence does not seem to back it up so far. Still got all the lads we supporters want to keep, so maybe, just maybe, the " selling club" tag might just be a bit of a misnomer. But i thought we are a selling club?
