They already decoupled Bet365 from the club last summer and John Coates is now in sole ownership.

He will get circa 2-4Bn from that sale so it won't affect us too much. Rules prevent him and them investing now and it will be the same tomorrow.

They'll just be very rich and cash rich people.

If nothing else it opens up the possibility of a new stadium and shirt sponsor.

There won’t be any point in a new stadium though surely - if you don’t get promoted I mean?

Big club, small club, similar club. Non entity this, non entity that. My dad's bigger than your dad. Some of you need to read the room.

We have 6 clubs in this country that the football circus are interested in and the rest are here to make up the numbers. That's Stoke, Sunderland and whoever else.

Get promoted yourselves this summer and by October they would have stopped talking about your promotion and will be talking about your impending relegation and whether you can spend the parachute money wisely or not. Once you're relegated theyll forget you ever exist until you get back in again.

The bigger issue here is how and why the football business in this country has been allowed to develop into a closed shop through the back door, and more frankly why clubs have been allowed to go to the wall, in some cases, without so much as a raised eyebrow.

That's the issue and that's the disgrace that everyone should be banging the drum about day in day out.

Totally agree mate, boils my piss.

What makes some supporters of Albion, Stoke, Sunderland etc make them think they are any more of a fan, or love their club more than fans of Barnet, Stockport, Salford etc

Unlucky club Stoke City. Founding members of The Football League but just one League Cup to note in their history. Were getting a good side together with Matthews and a fine centre-forward called Freddie Steele in the team then Hitler invaded Poland. Were challenging near the top of Division One in the mid-seventies when the roof blew off one of their stands; they had to sell a couple of their better players to pay for it to be replaced. Hard to imagine a PL side being derailed by such a thing today.
