One commentator during a world Cup lunch time game if your watching this how come your not at work lol Mexico 86 I thinkAnother one for Barry Davies - great commentator and as a bonus it always felt to me that he had loads of passion for our games and always commented on the support.
Loved it when he was commentating on the England v Germany Hockey game and we scored - "Where were the Germans? But quite frankly, who cares?"
Him by a country mileBarry Davies was the best of my time of watching football by a considerable margin IMO.
Wilson gets on hereBest pundits are all the ones on the podcasts - most of the Guardian lot, Wilson, Ronay, Glendenning. Phillipe Auclair, Gab Marcotti, I like George and Ali from the Not the top 20 one etc
Was that not des lynam France 98?So he said but we know other wise

I would be arrogant if I had humped Natalie SawyerCannot stand Matterface, got an arrogance as if he is the biggest star involved in the match he's commentating on, if you listen everything he says is scripted and rehearsed, trying for the Ronnie radford moment
Too true marra. Not enough characters. Not sure but great line none of the current mob have the brains to think of saying out like that now
I can’t stand most but a few who really rile me.Inspired by Peter Drury thread. Who are/were they?
Best Barry Davies and Tony Gubba. I know he is a sex offender but Stuart Hall was fantastic to listen to.
Lenny Lawrence used to be very complimentary of us on that as wellI used to like the Roger Thames / David Mills combo on the Tyne Tees match.....
Tyler went too full on company man in his later years that’s why no one could stand him. Never forget him calling footballers key workers during the restart.I know he’s not popular on here but I loved Tyler in that period from early 90s to early 2010s.
Some amazing moments including Ji, Gerrard and Aguerrro
They smashed itKeys and Gray. Proper lads banter
