Is he the best english qualified batsmen that Durham have ever produced since becoming a county.

His inns today was a record for Durham, with cricinfo descibing it as ''controlled aggression'' sds promising for Durham and England

apoligies if seb

 i meant as a pure batsmen, shd have a made it clearer, no argument about all round batsmen in Collingwood plus his bowling, fielding etc... Or are you still saying colly:?:

You can't say he's the best durham have produced as he is still very early in his career. Currently thats Collingwood imo.

Stokes looks he has the potential to be one of the best durhams produced but time will tell.

Famous last words, with Durham's history of producing batsmen. But here's hoping he's genuine, rather than a Peng or Gough

Certainly looking that way

As an allrounder he surely has a better England chance too, as there's quite a few batsmen in the way

His batting is obviously his strong suit though. His bowling seems to be very hit or miss. The 6fer in the opening game, then going at 8 (I think it was) an over in the next Championship game.

Colly didn't play 50-odd tests for his bowling and fielding, he kept his place cos he averaged over 40, the benchmark of any test level batsman. Fielding and a few overs were a bonus.

He is potentially an excellent batsmen with his bowling no more than a handy option. Seems good at knocking the tail over.

I'd say Stokes looks like a huge prospect, his bowling in the one-day matches this year has been canny, a bowling average of 15, first class batting average of 41, he's looking good for a 19 year old.

I thought Ben was a Kiwi , born in Christchurch NZ !
Is he qualified for England through his parents ?
