Ben Stokes

Coughlin? Hardly seen him play, complete waste of money at present. Burnham.... How many chances? I could to back further when the majority of experts on here had Stokes locked up for life the moment he was arrested down in Bristol.

Proving my point. You think it's fair to lay into Cogs and Burnham but not make more restrained comment about Ben Stokes.

Nobody on here had Stokes locked up for life, probably the most pro Stokes forum when it came to that incident.

I wouldn't say I've laid into Cogs and Burnham mind but hey ho.

The bit in bold is laughable mind

Sad news for several reasons. I wouldn't bother trying to guess why as you'll probably be wrong, he's just not well and it happens to a lot of people.
I wish him well.

If people have laid into Stokes, as you claim, you've done worse with other players.

This has nothing to do with fans. He is struggling from the stress of bereavement and injury. I've been through this recently and can totally empathise.

Is Stokes a victim of burnout? Covid bubbles don't help of course but I can remember when T20 came out player burnout was a worry due to the extra format. Now we have another extra format. I think more cricketers might follow.

Gutted about this, will be a massive miss for the India series, which has suddenly got a lot harder, and just generally. Hope everything sorts itself out for Ben asap and he’s back doing what he does best very soon. Best wishes to all the Stokeses.

Don't agree with that mind

Eh?
I think what they meaning mate is you have been quick to criticise other players, remember quite clearly debating with you over Broads batting in the last Ashes where you continually criticised Broad as ‘mentally weak’ when he was getting out cheaply.

Where as the moment the odd poster has simply mentioning in a fair way that Stokes has been a little bit out of form you all over them like a rash criticised them, when they entitled to their opinion.

It’s obvious that you have a soft spot and biased towards him and will never have a bad word said about him matter what.

That said Stokes is a simply brilliant cricketer the one truly world class all round cricketer we have in this country.

We all hope he gets better soon as what a player!

Covid, lockdown, lost his dad, maybe missing family in NZ, hand injury... Could be a mixture. Either way best wishes to him, clearly been fighting some demons in his head and needs a break.

I haven't criticised Stokes in anyway recently but I have never seen personal criticism on here. I have seen people criticising some of his performances but that's very different.

EDIT: I did criticise him over Bristol mind - lucky boy back then. Anyway I hope he gets the help he needs fantastic cricketer.

Agree and I stand by that with regards to his batting it's embarrassing for a professional cricketer and for me it's fully justified though j hope he can sort it. I don't think the criticisms of Stokes are justified though but folk can crack on as they wish watching on YouTube

Lost the argument when you're resorting to cheap shots.

How you watch matches is irrelevant to the quality of comment. I've been off work with a cardiac problem and vertigo since April, unable to drive or attend games. YouTube streams of our games have kept me sane.
