He's written a retrospective warts-and-all diary of each of his 108 Test match appearances.

One of my cricketing heroes as a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s.

Will be a fascinating insight into how the game I love has changed, especially during the years 1964-1982, which this book covers. How he faced up to some of the greatest bowlers the game has ever seen, and to read about that famous over he faced against Michael Holding in the West Indies in March 1981.

I know he's marmite to most cricket followers, but I don't half miss the old duffer on TMS.

Put my order in for the book today, and can't wait to read it.

Every book Fairfield produce is top quality stuff.
I've still got the Geoff Cope (one of Boycott's Yorkshire team mates) one to read.

No problem 👍 Yes, Fairfield Books never publish stinkers. One of my favourites is a diary of the 1981 Sussex CCC season by their then captain John Barclay. Loved the Brian Rose book too, Rosey.

I think I've got three or four by John Barclay - all decent stuff. I'm currently reading a Fairfield book in the shape of Mark Wagh the ex Warwicks and Notts batsman's diary of the 2008 season. Added interest for a Durham supporter as this was the season Notts imploded and we snatched our first Championship title.

Love the bit where he turned up at Trent Bridge for his first day and half the people were expecting the Aussie Test star.:lol:

Should be a good read. Brilliant player was Boycs. He seems to have his lovers and haters both on and off the field.
