I seem to recall fans charging at Moyes at home after a few games, foaming with rage , fans leaving in droves well before 80mins, not to mention the amount of threads on here wanting him out/Short out/ Rodwell out / etc.

But no, he's now canny...of course none of the above happened, no , not at Sunderland the canny club, we dont act like the mags, no not us.

Our fans aren't trying to proclaim our manager the 2nd coming though. Overall the support for Moyes has been very good away from this place.

You didnt answer the quote, have yous booed off the team this season?

We've never had hideous messages on bedsheets, sackmoyes.com, toot if you want Short oot and mock funerals.

No change from me, Moyes is still on thin ice, strange defeatist attitude and I'm not letting a couple of wins paper over the cracks but we'll done for attempting to change the direction of the thread you fat twat.

He's a good manager, certainly top flight level. They should walk that league this season with the money & infrastructure they have. He probably came in slightly too late last season to turn them around but I don't remember there being any upturn in points when he took over. I imagine they'll be lower-midtable prem next season.

When was that?
Friday 20 August 2010. So Bruce will be dragging our stats up.

The original comment from you was about being fully behind. The boo's quite clearly suggest that is no the case, or you have a funny way of showing it. Have we been booed off this season, aye. Are trying to kid ourselves that everything has been fine and dandy under Moyes? No. That's the difference, you lot want anyone who will listen to believe Rafa is a genius and the 19th Messiah who with the full backing of the mighty toon army will conquer the world. The reailty is, so far he's achieved nothing Ian Holloway or Steven Bruce couldn't have achieved, spunking millions on the way and the first sign of any cracks this season and the fans have been ready to turn. One bad run and the Rafa masks will be ripped up and the bed sheets unfurled.

Over 6 years ago, about the same time since the fuckers beat us.

Things change over the years and my unfortunate times spent seeing and attempting to communicate with mags tells me they're fat fuckers.

How ironic, one of the bedsheet brigade, giving a lecture on fan behaviour, on a rivals message board. You couldn't make it up. Oh hang on ...

Who's saying none of that happened? We were rotten at the start - and still are for large parts.

That told me that even of they finished bottom of the prem next season Rafa would be a "legend" there.

My point was he took them down so failed last year and that he's been gifted every chance to Coast it this year so his real test comes next year and onwards. He disagreed saying he's done wonders to get them into a profit this year and that (I shit you not) " you wouldn't understand" how the relationship is between Rafa and the fans and that he understands what it means to be gaffer there.

So it begs the question, how do you judge his tenure from when he took over?

Mags are not normal, and think differently to normal people.

Benitez will be judged on what he achieves next season. He's slowly clawing back his repuatation currently but the wider football world will only recognise achievements in the top flight of football in whichever country he is working in.

He undoubtedly failed last year and had he not been such 'a name' he'd have been pedalled in the summer. Let's face it he was appointed in March with the side one point from safety and with at least one game in hand on the two sides directly above them (they had two games in hand on Norwich at this time).

He failed to achieve the short term goal of keeping them up as his own wiki page captures with delicious accuracy ...

"Newcastle ended the with a six match unbeaten run, including a 5–1 final day defeat of third-place Tottenham Hotspur. However, the team was relegated to the due to rivals claiming 12 points from their final six fixtures."

They undoubtedly had an excellent transfer window, managing to get massive fees for players who had in the main underperformed and have wisely invested that money in assembling a squad that look a cut above most of the players at Chamipnship level but it's at the top table where Benitez capabilities as a manager will be assessed.
