Shearer will be all over it ffs
Fair enoughI don't mind Shearer as a tournament pundit tbh - not afraid to offer his point of view.
Yeah, I can take them or leave them too.Fair enough
I find him tedious with a limited vocabulary
But tbh Im not a fan of pundits on tv at all. When I go to the match I don’t have someone yapping in my ear for 90 minutes telling me what I can see
I might be cynical, but the only times I see Shearer offering anything close to insight is on MOTD when a team of researchers have had a few hours to put the ideas together.Yeah, I can take them or leave them too.
But at least with Shearer you get the occasional bit of insight. There is a long list of pundits who have built a career on speaking without actually saying anything - Joe Cole, Danny Murphy, Jamie Redknapp, Micah Richards, Michael Owen, Rio Ferdinand etc.
They aren't pundits. They are presenters. It's a completely different role.À lot of ‘respected’ male pundits eg Lynam, Keys have never played football at any level but people listen
Not saying she is good or bad but it isnt and shouldn’t be a gender thing unless it is purely based on pro football
At lot of ex male players( now pundits) never played in à WC tournament eg Micah Richards, but he is regarded as a knowledgeable pundit by many
Keys is respected? By whom?À lot of ‘respected’ male pundits eg Lynam, Keys have never played football at any level but people listen
