Batth to Norwich ** confirmed **

I think Onien being captain suggests that when fit, he is a first choice regardless. I think he was expected to be the replacement for Evans longer term, but seems to have made the position his own alongside Ballard, and I don't think Batth would have been more than an occasional player, which he rarely impressed at. He was always a run of games type of player, so I don't think we would have got the best of him going forward.

It will be interesting to see if the plan is to bring Seelt into the position and push O'nein into the anchor going forward, possibly as part of a back 5.

Let’s see proof of you dissing him prior to this season. He was player of the season and an excellent pro behind the scenes. It came about that he was going to be moved on and then people like yourself piled on saying he wasn’t good enough which was ridiculous as he’d never let us down. You were being wise after the event and you can’t prove otherwise.
I called it pre season, early July and again before the season kicked off.

Where have I said he was good for us or and excellent pro?

I haven’t said he wasn’t good enough either?

It’s quite simple. His skillset isn’t suited to the new system we are now playing.

I wish him well. He did a job. We’ve moved on, so has he.

You seem really angry and triggered. Not sure why you are trying to die on some Danny Batth hill

Let’s see where you called it pre season. Our current squad would be stronger with him still in it until better, proven centre backs were brought in to replace him. I’m saying no more on it. Cheers.

Have a look yourself if your that bothered.

At least you’ve started having decent debates instead of your tedious sheep botherer posts

I think his knees have gone. His value will only drop. We probably got rid at the perfect time. Seelt and Triantis will be worth a few million in a year, will improve, and will be on low wages.

He was a great servant during his short time here, and seems a good bloke, but I don't want him back.
This...

Exactly. If he was made available for transfer in January, I wouldn't be arguing for us to sign him. He's 33, he's not really the style of player we need and he can't run. We've got multiple CBs, and I'd rather the likes of Seelt got game time to develop than giving minutes to an old head. Also worth bearing in mind that Batth has been available all season, and yet has played 95 minutes for a struggling Norwich.

We are in absolutely no danger whatsoever of being anywhere near a relegation battle, so as Mowbray says it's about finding the right balance of picking a team to win matches, and still being able to integrate young players by giving them minutes on the pitch when you can. We as a club now are long-term focused, rather than overly worrying about the next 3 minutes.

He was a good role model and a decent player for us but he's moved on and so have have we. We brought two lads in who appear comfortable with the ball at their feet and can pass the ball. I don't recall us being under much threat in the air over the weekend so fingers crossed we've replaced Danny's prime skill set and added a touch more skill on the deck. With Crompton and Johnson behind them we're looking in good shape at centre back.
