Yeah, we have to be patient. If you look back at when Denis Smiths team walked this league, they consolidated in the 2nd Division then went up from a 6th place playoff spot. It won't happen overnight, but with the right set up and a forward who can score goals in the Championship, we'll be back.

Teams that go up from League One tend to do okay the next season. At least they used to although it has tailed off a bit in recent years.

On paper our squad needs absolutely massive improvement though. Aside from McGeady and Sanderson (who isn't ours) I'd want every single player improved on.

We're a million miles away from being at playoff level in the Championship as things stand, IMO.

we had a massive rebuild when we got promoted, 16 new players that summer. Reaping the rewards now though, apart from Pinnock and maybe Moore none of the promotion squad would get in this side unless they are still here.

Well done to you, send the Wendys down

All three teams who went up last season are in real danger of coming straight back down.......and that was also the case this time last year but Luton and Barnsley both just stopped up while Charlton who had looked the safest came back down

Not quite mate, Barnsley are a really well run club, with a fantastic recruitment policy, contacts everywhere and dont sign someone over a certain age, happy to sell on too.

Its not just a plucky team that went up and are on a good run.
They were 60 seconds from being relegated last season weren't they?

Yeah, it hasn't really gone according to the trend in recent season.

Probably no coincidence that it changed around the same time as when Championship clubs started spending ÂŁ20m+ on strikers!

On a canny run at present. 1-0 up tonight v Stoke and if the results stay the same 1 win away from play offs with game in hand on 6th and 7th.
If they can threaten top 6 no reason why if we go up this year we couldn’t be challenging to go back to Premier by end of 2022/2023 season.
Fuck that. Stuff the mags twice and challenge in 21/22.
