*****Barnsley V Sunderland Match Thread*****

The first touch on our strikers is appalling. We can't hold anything up because its bouncing off Grabban and Vaughan's knees or their first touch lands 5 yards away. Also how the fuck that wasn't a red card I'll never know.

Leeds and this match (so far) just proves what a big job Grayson has inherited. It's going to take a long time. Patience it needed.

Fans writing Grayson off before his first transfer window has even finished need to get a grip.
Spot on.

This is what I hate about football now, everyone wants INSTANT success. It's not going to happen.

Everyone should know what our situation is and not to call for the managers head after 5 games.

I wanted a manager with a totally different approach and style of play, seems like this is just the same as last season under Moyes. Doesn't inspire me at all.
I'm not calling for his head or call him a bad appointment. But it shows how limited and out of touch the club are. Grayson is old school, a gruff northerner with working class roots. That is all out dated in todays game.

I think that the problems at Sunderland are deep rooted. It was never going to easy to turn the club around - I see this season as a period of consolidation and acclimatisation to the Championship.

We probably all got carried away (including me) due to the novelty of winning a game in August!

If we do end up losing, it is a big wake up call for SG and the board to get a few players in this week, 2 strikers, a defender or 2 and a midfielder. 2nd half needs to be far better, hope SG is tearing into the useless players right now!
