He isn't though as he has as many detractors as fans. Don't let that sway you though

He's just a puppet for Short & Bain, otherwise he wouldn't have taken the job. His hands are tied, and he'll be sacked in January.

He's still a football manager and will be getting paid a higher salary than he's ever had following his retirement as a player. He's not earning his coin for me and comes across as though he has little confidence in his own ability. He's like a bumbling wreck at times when being interviewed.

I think that the problems at Sunderland are deep rooted. It was never going to easy to turn the club around - I see this season as a period of consolidation and acclimatisation to the Championship.

We probably all got carried away (including me) due to the novelty of winning a game in August!
