I'm not one to build a kid up but he's England's Tendulkar, the next 20 years are going to be amazing.

Even Essex Boy will agree he should be ranked in the top 10

doubt anyone will top his story when he goes back to school after the easter holiday although I'm sure there will be one billy bullshiter in his class who will try to top it.

Our works team had their first net session at Old Trafford last night and the lad next to me said "I netted at Lords once"

The Durham Seconds/Academy has a lad called Cole Pearce who plays wicketkeeper. He is only 16. If anything ever happened to Richardson it would be interesting, with Mustard out, too see what Durham did.

Isnt Smith a back-up keeper? Or have I totally made that up?

Its not that unheard of for wicket keepers of that age facing 85-90mph international bowlers such as Shazad. All the local leagues have had test match bowlers and it was particularly common in the 80s where the likes of Courtney Walsh, Nixon McLean, Wasim Akram and Ian Bishop all played in our leagues. For my team Whickham we had Chris Matthews who in the mid 80s according to Adam Gilchrist autobiography was the quickest bowler in Australian state cricket (he played a few tests) and our wicket keeper was a 15 year old called David Hirst.
