Beardsley was miles better. While he was still playing in the top flight Chimbo was finding it hard to keep his place for Washington in the second division of the Northern league . He looked poor even at that level.
 
Bardsley was brilliant for us, never understood people moaning about him, he was a solid defender and had a good shot on him as well.

I suppose he soured a canny few with that post laughing at us getting beat by Fulham under Di canio on the opening day of the season but even after that when he come back in under Poyet he was topper.

the strangest thing was people turning on him after the casino thing

it was all utter bollocks

the players were granted permission for a night out after Wigan were relegated, so we stayed up, they got pissed, who cares.

Seemed to just randomly discover he could score from distance, then came the lay off and belt it free kicks .. good times.
