the more obvious error with this tweet they are all capable one day specialists

True

How can he have a go at Trott when he was scored 50s in almost every game in this tournament and averaged 60 in Australia. And Strauss has a run a ball century in the tournament already.

And that moron earns money from talking about cricket.

give them some credit at least they are consistently inconsistent.

aye, nothing to be proud of

standard of international cricket has never been so poor due to the age and retirments of so many of the worlds greats of the last 15 years and we are still an ordinary side in both formats

wonder when the Flower love in will begin to diminish

We're not ordinary in the test arena. We're probably only behind SA and India in India at the minute.

As for the ODI's I wouldn't even say we're ordinary, we're awful. Not enough batsmen capable of scoring quickly enough and bowlers who just don't look like taking wickets and/or are very expensive. The injuries don't help but there's simply not enough players pulling their weight.

Our performances the last few years in the proper format of the game do help back up Dexter's opinion though, that in the format of the game that really matters, we can produce the goods, as we did in Australia. The big test will be when the Indians come to town this summer. And despite what you say about Jimmy, if he remains as consistent in the test arena as he has been recently, with Tremlett stepping up to the plate to lead the line with him, we will have a good chance of beating India.

What's holding us back in test cricket is the over emphasis on the pyjama game. At the same time, we'll always struggle in ODIs because we still just about recognise the importance of test cricket as the real thing, but both players and selectors get caught in 2 minds to a certain extent when playing the 1 day game.

Fair enough.

I kind of see where you're coming from as the overall standard of international cricket is weaker than it was 5/10 years ago. However, we're still a very competent test outfit, although the less said about the one day version the better.

Cowardly, bottling scum. They should be shot. And their families too.

I have never known such a gutless piece of scum as those that have tha crass audacity to masquerade as professional sportsman. FOAD.
