Banging on the back row….

Nah not having that. You can't equate singing your heart out for 90mins and banging like a neanderthal after we score. The 2 might be linked by passion but they are nothing alike. Singing until your voice is horse adds to the atmosphere, the banging doesn't add anything.

You are right though, it does make an impact on how other people see us. I've heard 2 neutral people on the socials mention how shit it sounds this week.

Good idea, I don't know why this hasn't happened already though. It's not as if it's a new issue.

Why do you want to parsnip it? It's not as if the debate takes the shine off anything at the moment.
It obviously winds peole up and doesn't affect others. It's all opinions and I respect and sort of understand the saying just hearing the crowd noise. The worst thing we did before (Not the worst obviously ) was when we had that I feel good James Brown music after goals. I do understand what you are saying. I just like noise and it means we have scored and I don't hear it until I have calmed down and heard it back after

What banging?
It must be loud on the telly as I hardly hear it.
There again I get behind the team at the match
It must be right where some TV microphones are placed as I can't hear it at all in the ground from the SEC.
It's only when a goal is scored. It's under the boxes and only been happening since the club changed the material.
I quite like it me. Makes us sound different to every other club.
Happens at most lower league clubs.

And Chelsea do it also.

I know the litter on the pitch issue boils a few people too. I'm not as bothered with that as them but I can recognise the issue.

The banging after a goal has always grated on me. I had hoped it would die a death on its own but it does seem to raising its head once again.

I've heard Chelsea fans discuss theirs and I'm sure they said it's someone banging a metal gate or fence. Most of them seem to love it.

Seen a load of theirs in upper tier down there braying on the boardings at the front. Sounds the sane as at our place.

Them liking it confirms its absolutely shite (during goal celebrations). Much prefer roar of the crowd.

My problem with it is that it's like booing. If even a few hundred people out of our crowd booed something while everyone else cheered, the boos would come through louder than cheering.

This is the same. The banging sounds so loud which makes our cheering sound less amazing because of the way the sound is picked up more clearly. I don't know why I care, but everyone who has been there at those absolutely top tier moments knows how loud it is, and yet sometimes on highlights or TV all you hear is this sharp banging sound.

They’ve moved the Sky comms position back to the lower west, right in front of the boxes. That’s where all the individual shouting, clapping and metal-banging noise comes from over full stadium chanting

It makes sense, because sometimes that’s all you can hear over the Sky comms.

Other commentators who sit further back in the PC don’t have this issue, so it doesn’t affect their sound.
