Baldurs Gate III

Any SMB interest in this one?

Been in Beta for the nearly 3 years with finally a release date of August 31st with a 72h head start if you pre-order.

Not a Dungeons and Dragons or Tabletop gamer myself but it's simply a old-school classic RPG with a birds eye view but the thing I love about it the most is where your actions may have consequences for the rest of the entire gameplay.

Full campaign is rumoured to be about 125h long, split screen and online co-op available. PC and PS5, they're trying to get it out on Xbox but ran into severe issues.

Steam servers crashed when Beta initially released so yeah it's a big one.

Just seen the developers were holding a showcase and went through some of the romance options and there was a clip of a Druid romancing a bear. Wtf lol.

BG II is one of the best games I’ve ever played like mate.
I tried it back when it was out originally mate and really couldn't get away with it. Frustrating because there are so many highly rated games like this that are my kind of game other than not being able to get away with the camera angle.

Welcome to the weird world of Dungeons and Dragons where anything can happen and might have consequences later on. If you don't fuck that female druid she might fuck someone else later and attack you :D

Not thought of dipping back in and giving this style another go mate or you think it’ll never stick?

Honestly mate, was in love with the first two but can’t recall anything as out there as this :D

24 hours til game of the decade comes out (4pm tomorrow) Devs have confirmed main story (if you get that far) is about 125 hrs along and there's 17,000 different outcomes to the ending (aye 17 thousand)

I mean like it's literally anything goes. You can have sex with bears, some critter rat you don't normally click in video games might actually be a hexed werewolf and eat ya as you walk past it and the game just outright ends there. With 17,000 different outcomes you can only imagine what the fuck can happen.

The game's releasing with 12 classes and 11 races.

I've got an imagination for my first character. I'm going for a Dwarf Thief who likes to socialise with all the NPCs be best mates, be popular and be a proper del-boy and once I've done business with them I either pick pocket them or assassinate them when they wonder off on their own, any grasses get assassinated also but if there's some NPC's who find it funny ill hire them to my party.

Tempted to give it a go. Will be waiting for PS5 version though so will watch some gameplay videos on YouTube first.

My top tip would be - If you remember Broken Sword for the PS1, treat the game like that. Certain races help in certain situations like Orcs have better vision in darkness. That tome sticking out the bookshelf in the darkness might contain some godlike spell.

Will be steep learning curve for me like. I dabbled in Baldurs Gate 2 but couldn't get into it. 20 years or so ago.

Reviews are overwhelmingly positive as expected. The most played game on Steam this weekend with 750,000 people playing at the same time which is the 7th highest ever recorded on Steam with a metacritic rating of 95/100.

I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and I keep dying at an ambush so I'm rather stuck atm :D
