To try and disguise the fact that yet again we are a national embarrassment on their watch. Chased him for weeks and couldn't convince him to leave Aberdeen. It looks absolutely desperate and no one sensible is buying the "mutual decision" spin. We all know they don't do contingency plans, we're lucky if they've got a plan A half the time.

Doesn't disguise or say much of anything.
 
The more I stew on it, the more I think he's just used our interest to get the best deal for himself out of Aberdeen. If he really was concerned about being sacked by potential new owners I'm sure Bain could have put the question to them to ask if they'd keep him on to reassure him.
