Back four

Mukiele Ballard Alderete Reinildo

The best in my lifetime (I'm 48)
Anyone disagree or has any older fans seen a better back four?
As solid as I can remember.

Pretty sure everybody was shitting themselves just before the season started as we didn’t recruit defenders until late on. Apart from Masaku, they’ve all been great signings.

I think our starting defence and midfield is set for next season..

Need some decent options off the bench for midfield.

Hopefully most of the budget goes up top.

They’re all excellent but alderete is absolutely superb. He’s a champions league quality player playing for Sunderland and I enjoy every second of him being here.

He was f***ing brilliant today

On who ?? Brobbey surely one of the first names on the team sheet

Hard to disagree with tbh. Only the two teams fighting out for the title have conceded fewer goals, an unreal achievement for a promoted club.

With that description and our set up, up top is one player, the centre forward

Talking during the match today, he had a very poor Christmas. Brentford in particular he looked like he’d fell off a cliff. He’s turned that around & is somehow playing better than he was at the start of the season.

Massivekaku just didn't fancy it.

It's his loss

Was pretty good, but there were a few times when O'Nein and Alderete were both marking the Spurs forward, Mukiele drifted into a centre back spot to mark nobody and Richarlison was left in acres of space on the wing. A better player could have punished us for that. You could argue that Rigg should have been getting back to cover.

Can't complain too much, but definitely room for improvement.

Tidied

Have you posted on the wrong thread?
