I've been keeping an eye on Pakistan from watching Psl over last few years. They have turned into a very decent explosive side. Well deserved of their current number 1 spot. I think they going to be there and thereabouts in WC. They seem to have shaken their dodgy monikors. Maybe due to shaping their team around ultra pros like Babar and Shaheen? Rather than disgraced ex stars like Wasi Akram, who was a reet coke head apparently.

Interesting test choice. Shan as talented as he is hasn't really set the world on fire with his opening. Still, very intelligent and hopefully tactically astute.

Afridi for the T20's is a no brainer. He's done well captaining the Lahore T20 side.

Funny they haven't named a ODI captain. Sign of the times for the downgraded format.

The reasoning for that I think was that they have no ODIs in the near future so there’s no need to name one yet. But you could argue them not having games scheduled is a sign of downgrade.
