BA sale now on

There was a sky team status match that might still be on, I was silver and got matched to their equivalent which was gold.

Cost £100 but has been well worth it in terms of pre-selecting seats and getting lounge access etc especially when travelling for work which is usually via Schipol.

Might be worth a look if you can travel with KLM or Air France

I did look at that matching offer but I don't have any trips planned in the next year where I could take advantage of it. Hopefully it's still running next spring.

Aye only worth it if owt planned…was ideal for me as knew I’d be travelling a bit with work and there’s always 2-3 hour layovers.

I didn’t realise that Korean Air was part of it and as such we could use Seoul and Osaka lounges when on our hols which was a bonus.

Reckon I’ll maintain it for 26-27 but then after that…like BA silver, it’ll be gone for good and it’ll be a boots meal deal at Newcastle and Heathrow :)

Silver was always the sweet spot in the BA system. Not too difficult to get once you knew the tricks (especially when the double point holiday deal was on) and you got a lot of benefits with it. Unless you did a lot of long haul travel in business class then Gold was hard to achieve - but if you did a lot of long haul business class travel then you didn't need the status.

Same here. I have Silver until next spring but with all of the changes to the BAEC there is zero chance I will be able to maintain my status after that so I'm just burning as many Avios as possible on trips while I still get all of the perks.
Same as 95% of all members sadly. BA really just decided to ‘not’ anymore.

Mind on the upside i was offered a status match with KLM and this year they have offered me double tier points so status secured for next year already. And they answer questions online within seconds, unlike BA and their 1990 style IT support

Yeah, I might try and do another status match before gold expires at the end of March…

Gonna do a couple more short trips as well just to get a final visit or two to the first class lounge at Heathrow T5 (and maybe even try and find somewhere to go that goes from T3 so I can do the mammoth lounge crawl again…)

Had a stroke of luck with the sale timing this morning - had a couple of flights booked for NY beginning of Jan, paid £1150 for the two a few months back, and now in the Sale they are £870.

BA have just sent a mail advising of a time change on the NCL to LHR leg (1 hr later) I could accept the change as just meant 1hr 30 layover vs the 2.30, but it also gave me the option to cancel and get a refund...which I did and then just rebooked the same flights at the lower price.

Thanks BA - that'll come in handy when buying me ten pund big apple beers!

The T3 Lounge Crawl must be one of the best in the world (though Hong Kong is very good too)

Mentioned earlier in the thread, binned ba for virgin credit card.

Seem to get a companion voucher about once a year. Booked a july trip to ny for 2, business there n standard back, used points n just had to pay a grand taxes.
Bookings are handled by a dedicated phone line.

Seems way better than my experience using ba tbf.

Virgin are great. Their Premium economy is excellent. Would do that rather than BA Business every time.
