Awful Journalism this morning

It was after they'd signed Tevez. That's my point though. City were punching up and taking on the establishment. Quite why 'The Richest Club in the World' is bothering with a League One side is baffling.

If we were irrelevant we'd not be mentioned. The fact they've got a client journalist fishing for click bait to remind the unwashed they're above us in the league seems odd.
The tevez signing certainly changed it fir city.
Not sure who newcastle will get to have that effect.

Being “The richest club in the world” means nothing tbh. It’s just a cute little tag line. They still have to stay within the parameters of FFP. They’ve left it too late. They won’t ever be able to compete with the spending power of Chelsea and Man City (Both of those clubs are global brands and household names)
As much as I'd love to agree, money trumps all in this world and always finds a way (especially in an organisation as corrupt as the PL) 🤢

The club is only as rich as its assets, which are negligible in the grand scheme of things. They have rich owners who could leave when they so feel. Absolute shite bait by the journo, I’d be embarrassed to have my name to that question in fact.

Because of the league we are in I never give the Mags a 2nd thought. Until we are back in the same league, then I will start thinking about it. At the moment I am more concerned about getting promoted thru the playoffs than worrying about our neighbours.

So Murtagh acknowledging they are owned by a barbarous regime, who carries out state sponsored terrorism.

Pity he didn't ask questions about that, but it is easiergetting in cheap shots.

Didn't catch who it was but a question from a Journo to Neil:

'Sunderland were the richest club in the world in the 50's, now that it's Newcastle do you think the Tyne-Wear rivalry will continue to even exist?'

Why on earth does a Journo think that's a pressing question to ask.

In fairness to Neil he batted it off saying we are concentrating on ourselves.

turned the video off when this journalist was on. absolutely pathetic thing to ask it was

I would have been happy with "next question"

Howe is a reasonable appointment for them and quite revealing of their level of ambition . They will aim to compete at the Southampton / Wolves level initially at least then I suppose it'll depend on how much value KSA thinks they're getting out of it whether they try to spend their way up to Arsenal Spurs level.

NE sports reporter for the Daily Star

87 posts before we got to the nub of the problem.

That rag is not a newspaper and therefore he cannot claim to be a journalist. You might as well let some random old geordie granny ask the questions.

"Alex - will ya be wearinging ya big coat in the dug-out, or just ya shorts & training gear? Cos if ya wear a big coat then I'll tell wor readers that Sunlun's new manager cannot settle in the north-east cos it's ower cold and is renegotiating his contract to get a heated blanket set-up on the bench. Wor readers want to know the answer, man!!"

They just look for any old shit they can put in a headline and encourage on-line clicks. Doesn't matter if the story within has all the substance of a soufflé. The club would be better off removing their invite and just asking fans from the podcasts and fanzines instead.
