Logistically it just seems mad.

You can't tap down someone to check if they have coins, so are there going to be tables where people have to empty all their pockets onto the table? What do you do if you say "yep, that pocket is empty" and its got a couple of coins in? Do the stewards have to put their hands in all of the pockets themselves?

Seems like a bit of a token gesture and they are hoping the away fans will just go along with it and not bring anything

After they announced access to the south stand would be for ticket holders of that stand only they seemed to have an external security company on the turnstiles, not your usual matchday stewards.

That's bizarre . My comment on the other thread was you can't stop people bringing in Vapes and coins.... And they are gonna try and do exactly that! You would need metal detectors and airport style security checks to find coins man!

I wouldn't like that as an ordinary away fan. If you went by train you wouldn't be able to vape the entire day, or at best hide it outside the ground in the bushes And normal smokers can bring their lighters in as normal ?

Of course there is, this is cheaper and almost impossible to enforce.

The net would act as deterrent. The searching of away fans would reduce the risk of flares etc being chucked, but taking money and vapes from fans when it’s just the odd few being dicks is going to cause backlash and the stewards are going to have to deal with the brunt of it.
