Australia v England, 3rd Test, 16th December , 23.30

Harmy and John Norman scathing of McCullum, Steve thinks he should go and John reckons he's gone missing in this series...Just mentioned Eddie Howe though ;)

The England post day interviews amuse me in this series...they wheel out a different coach or a player and they spin the interview to being positive and blowing smoke up their own arses...we hear , we can win this , we believe we going in right direction, we feel comfortable etc etc.... BUT in truth they are going to go down as the worst team to ever play in Australia and represent England. Do you think they are aware of this?? Do you think it will ever dawn on them? Or is the bullshit spin doctor temperament just installed in them that they are right.

It's the way of the world these days. We get exactly the same bullshit at work. People telling everyone what a great job they've done and how important they are to the organisation.

f***ing charlatans and chancers.

I genuinely don’t think they the worst team to play in Australia.

The very last touring team 4 years ago was a lot worse imo, as well as others.

I know they will equal on time losing the Ashes so can see that point.

I would say it could be said the most frustrating side to tour there.

As they have been in games at points and blown it.

There have been plenty worse England teams to have gone to Australia and just been blown away and not in games.

Aye. Which says it all about his awareness of where he was playing that shot. His head was that far across it was almost up deep points arse
This comment cheered me up a little.

He's thick as whale spunk and the cheek of the England setup gaslighting us saying he's got a great cricketing brain and he's a badger. My f***ing arse he is.

Lets be honest there wasn't a scooby we were actually chasing this down. But that's becoming the norm for Brook. Going well building a decent partnership , then he acts the clown opens up an end and we fall apart.

That's some compium/delusion mate.

The last team we're playing COVID conditions against a fully fit and 4 years younger Cummins, Hazlewood, Starc and Lyon.

If you'd had lobbed this lot in there they'd have done even worse. 4 of the top 6 were there anyway.

The Aussies were second string in the first 2 without a settled batting lineup in any game.

Yet they've pissed it to 3-0 and their batting hasn't even been particularly good beyond two players.

The best batsman has ended up in being their best batsman through circumstances of the Aussies being unsettled too.

Holy shit. We are at the infighting stage. It really has a feel of an imminent implosion of a moribund regime.

They can lose 5-0 now, if that's what it takes for the Key, Strauss and the rest of them to either change or go. They planned for this series for four years, everything they did was about either this series or the Hundred millions.

Where the hell do they go now? Another coach with the same "pathway" bollocks will have the same results, or are they actually going to respect and utilise the County Championship for which they have such disdain? Because this Chosen Few bollocks clearly isn't working.
Stokes isn't wrong.

You set the field up for a specific plan, but if the bowler isn't putting the ball in the area you need them to then you're screwed.

The Aussies are taking wickets because they're setting the field with a specific purpose in mind, trying to target a players weakness, and then their bowlers are doing what is asked of them and putting the ball in the right area for the plan to work. They know that almost all of our players will play dumb shots if you invite them to, and their bowlers are good at it.

We're relying on luck. We're relying on a bowler to produce a perfect ball, or a batsman to lose concentration and make a mistake, or for somebody to pull off a bit of world class fielding.

You're never going to consistently win games if your bowlers are incapable of bowling to a plan.

I sat through my countries annual End of Year summary meeting on Thursday. Every year they roll out some of the higher ups to tell everybody how brilliantly our company is doing, to boast about our successes, how amazingly everything is going.

Of course there's no mention at all about the project I work on. It's the single biggest contract this company has ever won, and is currently more than 2 years behind schedule and £400 million over budget. We're losing staff left, right and center and can't replace them because this project is such a nightmare that everybody who works in this industry knows about it, even if they've never worked on it.

But to hear the managers talk about the state of the business you'd think everything was perfect.
