Australia v England, 3rd Test, 16th December , 23.30

I find it incredible he's scored 6000+ runs. It doesn't seem that long since he made his debut.
He's been in and out of the side.

I think your getting confused with the fact he came back in after a 3 year gap for the later part of 21/22 series and dominated us.

Scored a 50 (or perhaps 40) on debut if I remember. Quite a noise about his debut given he was the first of Pakistani descent to play for Australia (I think).

Certainly doesn't feel like 15 years ago.
We were hammering them, I always remember Hussain laughing at how the Aussie Comms were drooling over him making 30/40 odd whilst we beat them by an innings
1 more over from Archer after drinks maybe, gonna be Stokes replacing him

What's so frustrating on this tour is that the Aussies aren't that good a team.

Not compared to some of the outfits they've put out in the past.

If we'd applied ourselves we could have beaten them in either test. Some tours you knew before a ball was bowled it was hopeless.

As much as you want to beat the best. As defs more satisfying. But you can only beat what is put in front of you.

If you'd had told us a few months ago. They'd be without one of their two best bowlers for all 5 tests, their captain and best bowler for 2 tests. Nathan Lyon would be dropped and Smith would be out injured for at least one game.

Also their batting lineup would end up a bit all over the place with Travis Head as opener. You'd have been salivating at the prospect.

Yet despite us having the more settled team, it's us clinging on with our fingernails after 2 games. Because of a situation entirely of our own making in both tests.
