decent position now. Another three in the final session and we are well on top. Two and still a good day after losing the toss. Credit to cook for his captaincy.

I think the Aussies will be happy.[DOUBLEPOST=1386233014][/DOUBLEPOST]

If only....

Good days cricket. Even if they just take those two dollys then England are well in front, as it is, Aussie by a nose.[DOUBLEPOST=1386233991][/DOUBLEPOST]Some mad turn for a day 1 pitch like, this could be a burner by day 3/4. Tomorrow is absolutely crucial for the whole series IMO.

Far from a dominating position for Aus but not a bad day either given the oppositions batting form. Going to have to play at a far higher level with the bat than we have in a while to win. Aus attack prob going to be somewhat blunted by the track mind, don't think they'll be match winners this time round.

Aussies should be happy with that, they will be on for about 400, which will be 100 more than our sackless lot will make IMHO. Dropping three catches will be costly.

After day one I think the Aussies will be the happier of the two sides.

This is beautiful batting from the Aussie captain.[DOUBLEPOST=1386289867][/DOUBLEPOST]RR at more than three and the spinner is getting milked.

Nope not liking this. Anything over 350+ will represent a tough proposition to match for our lot, unless a few play as well as they have in a space of years.

Which is galling given how average this side is, as far as Aussie sides go. We've really come down quite a few pegs in a very short space of time.

Aussies look set for 450+ here

KP average oe 120 in Adelaide like

Why are we insisting on bowling bouncers?

We've got no chance of winning this game now

Its nigh on impossible to win any test (or county championship match) when the opposing team posts 400 plus in the first innings. I am sure it must have happened a few times, but it must be extremely rare. Australia look set for North of 500 here and the pitch looks like the M1.
