Aurora Borealis

At this time of year, we can sometimes see the Northern Lights
I've seen a few videos and photos taken in the North East in the last few days,
Years ago Lancaster University would send emails if they were expecting to see the lights, I guess GDPR put a stop to that, anyway I've found an APP that sends alerts it's called AuroraWatchUK
Tonight it's saying an Amber alert
might be worth a lookup in the sky.

What’s GDPR got to do with owt?

Should get a better view of them when the government enforce some ‘blackout‘ on us

They would have a responsibility to hold that database of email addresses securely. If a breach occurred, they could get walloped financially.

Using an RSS feed would, I imagine, get around this problem.
They would have that anyway. GDPR wouldn’t put paid to it

I like the Glendale app better. Last night may have been possible, but it was cloudy and there was a full moon.

The sun is pretty active at the moment, so I'm hoping I see them at some point.

Aye glendale is by a mile the best app.
Ive seen the aurora lots of times from the north east using it.
I'll have a look at that one, I've never seen the lights.
I can't see it in the Play store?

Was gonna book up for Iceland between Christmas and New Year for my 50th but decided to go to Kielder instead then save our money and go to New York at Easter. Fingers crossed for clear skies
