Get with the times granda! if you can't use your apple wallet to trade an NFT for a QR code that gets you into the ground you aren't a real supporter!

Sad state of affairs. I'm not against progress and adding alternate payment methods but it shouldn't be at the expense of legal tender that a lot of people still rely on as their primary means of spending.
 

Imagine wilfully directing customers away because you want to operate a two bob digital entrance only.

It’s meant to be a club at the heart of the community ffs, therefore it needs to represent that community. By all means encourage those who pay cash to do it digitally next time, but educate them, don’t alienate.

I can think of 2 off the top of my head that have a £5 minimum for cards. Card Shop place on Chester Road next to Post Office and the Harbour View pub down Roker. With processing cash being so expensive you would think they'd be glad for punters to use cards?

Just had a think about this, my dad would travel up from Bedale to Roker Park and just pay at the gate. In his last few years he was ok with his bank card, but still went to the post office to pay all his bills. He wouldnt have managed to buy a ticket without assistance under the current system.

They have managed to get rid of all of the turnstile operators and replace them with kids pretending to be Stewards, win win for the penny counters. They wont consider anything unless it relates to £s.

Not to mention a largely deprived city too. You may run such a system well in west London but not in the north east. Got no stats on it but I bet north east still has significant proportion of people comparatively who don’t have a contactless card, for example.

Im amazed that some supporters are passionate about making it difficult for others to attend the SOL.

You can add a couple of lads I know who used to turn up and pay cash.

What a nightmare all of us live in east durham and have been going to the match home and away since the 70s . None of us have ever had season tickets . We go when we all fancy a good day out or the lads are doing well . So until they make it easier we will be stopping in the club to watch it .

crazy that the club is missing out on so much business.

The support is magnificent but it can be better if the club catered for all fans whatever their ability, age or background

Attendance figures are how many tickets are sold, including season tickets, not how many people actually attend the game

It is not the club, CA8SM checked other sites that use them and they’ve got the block as well.

Why? Probably security or an upgrade. I was surprised that the API could just scrap the data from the site. It is a shame, CA8SM’s work was great and I ended up getting a bit too addicted to the numbers. The cold turkey is hard today.

Aye bit confusing this thread matey, the chap who was doing the tracker until they blocked it said the tickets were higher than vs QPR and expected about 500 or so more on the gate. But tbf he could be wrong but hes most reliable source I suppose
