Attendance Thread - Coventry City (Play-Off 2nd Leg)

Whatever the label, do you see how it may be more difficult to attend midweeks for some ? And in some cases that extra effort won’t be worth it. Whereas Tuesdays game definitely will be.

Things may change in the coming years but for fairly unique reasons there is a lot of migration away from Sunderland for the last 30 years or so. Tbh I have upmost respect for those who still go to the games at all. I know some season ticket holders who have never lived in the North east !

Can we stop calling them exiles

Nobody has been exiled to live away

People have chosen to live away, usually for financial reasons. Which is absolutely their prerogative but they aren’t exiled

There's some on here who attend 1 - 2 games a season max yet have the nerve to slate supporters who live nearer to Sunderland for not going to every single match.

Swings and roundabouts and everyone has their own circumstances.

My son, who is normally a season ticket holder has never lived in the north east. He got his first season ticket when we lived in Cheshire, he's had one whilst at University living in Leeds, he's been a bit shan this year and hasn't bothered as he's in New Zealand, I'm thoroughly ashamed he hasn't made the effort to get to mid week games, or saturday games this year if I'm being honest

Cant people just ignore the odd nugget criticising others not going?! No one else really cares about the matter.

Anyone who follows sunderland and can go tuesday - enjoy it and lets help the team get to wembley.

Is this game now classed as a sell out?

Judge, jury and executioner you.
If anyone has been genuinely exiled that would be illegal. Who is keeping people prisoner
I live reasonably locally, I go to maybe 6-8 games a season. Should I stop altogether as I seem to be offending people?
No

But it’s odd you have 10,000 posts on a forum relating to something that you have less than a passing interest in

Of course that’s fine, but it’s a bit rich to act like he’s not gone to New Zealand (and therefore not supporting his club) of his own free will.

He’s not been forced to not go, he’s made a choice. Which is fine, but own it

It’s not a passing interest, I never used to miss a game. Just more to life now, it wasn’t a serious question by the way, just some of the whiners on here get right on my tits

I'm not sure why your getting your knickers in a twist over the use of the term exile. It has been used in common parlance for years to refer to supporters who don't live in the area of the team they support, I don't think any of them suggest they have been forcibly deported from the North East on pain of death should they return

Locals don’t bother with the midweeks

Too many fairweather fans . Just hope the usual don't start to stream out on the 75th minute regardless of score . Not holding my breath .
Our night games are usually poorly attended yet this one looks like everyones made the effort so where or what reason are the missing brigade giving attending this one compared to a normal Tuesday home game?

I would say im partly to blame here but I have the answer to your question at least.
My 8 year old daughter has a season ticket, she attends every day game and no night games, including this one.
Her ticket has been bought by someone else which isn’t an option for a normal league game.

You're coming across as a bit of radge packet now mind. Do you genuinely feel that you'd prefer only the 34k season ticket holders to be there on Tuesday, simply because the extra 12k or so, for whatever reason, couldn't attend all season? Given that we've averaged over 40k this season, there are probably only an extra 6k coming anyway.

It's such a strange reaction to be hating on "exiles" attending, given that the majority are probably exiled because of the actions and inactions of the government over the past 40 years.
