These threads are always funny. People leaping to the defence of the club by 'explaining' that the attendance that is read out is tickets sold. Everyone knows full well that is the case. But to keep doing it today for example is just a mind boggling failure to read the room.

cant be doing the catering company any good with less attending so less people to buy the beer and pies. Wonder how long before they managment team come up with some sort of idea to get people through the gates.......

If the club want to report tickets sold in the programme or whatever, ok, but stop announcing false attendances at the match. It's greeted with loud laughter and whistles.

Hasn't always been. Fairly recent thing.

But its still based on ticket sold as it always has been. More and more clearly not turning up. The season ticket prices next to match day are very cheap so easy to miss a few and not be out of pocket I suppose.

Around 35k season cards so about 7k. Was kids for a fiver and all the Academy teams were invited along today with their families and were put in the North Stand.

got no idea why there is such controversy over the crowd figures.

As someone has said earlier they have to be spot on to tally with income figures that we pay tax on ie give to HMRC.

If we are declaring 42k crowds and they are really 35k then our owners are forking out money from their own pockets to the tune of 7k paying fans which is a lot of money for fuckall but the ability to announce 40k plus crowds.

I think that’s about right. After the game Gary Bennett said 32k but I thought that was a bit low.

Before today I’ve never heard the crowd laugh when the attendance figure’s announced. Ludicrously high figure when we can all see it’s 10 -15,000 below what’s being stated…
