Aston Villa Parade

Villa's a wass club like. Anyone thinking otherwise knows nothing of English football. Proper club.

Wass.

A shade or two wasser than us.

I've no idea what wass means. And I've never suggested that they aren't a 'proper club', so I'm not sure who you're trying to condescend with that comment.

Fans still think it's 1982, and that the fluked European Cup makes them AC Milan.
Haha you sound like a blues fan . To be in it back then you had to be the best team in the country by winning the league which we did the year before. Yes there were some lesser teams we played to get to the final but that was the nature of the competition back then. We had Anderlecht in the semis which were no mugs back then and one of the all time greatest clubs in the world Bayern Munich in the final and we beat them fair and square. Rode our luck at times but we won . Like it or not Villa are one of the great clubs of English football and I’d also say Sunderland are too.

I’m glad we’ve kind of buried the ghost of 1982 by winning the Europa the other night. Yes it’s not the CL but it’s a great trophy to win.
Never liked them, especially when you get the born and bred Sunderland ones who switch from safc to villa whenever it suits, safe to say they have been all villa lately. Wankers
Can’t imagine there’s many Villa in Sunderland at all .

Congratulations mate. Chuffed for you. It'll be tough to keep competing in the league and improve on this season but with Emery in charge... why not?

You'd be surprised, I know of at least 2 . Probably because of the of the 90s cup win and having some classic 90s players. Whereas Sunderland were absolutely shite

We are on thin ice mate . We need a big overhaul in all honesty. In order to improve we’ll probably have to take a step or two back that’s how it is for clubs like Villa . Emery is class we are very lucky to have him but he’s one of them he likes the players he likes and he’s unlikely to move some of them on even if we should be to freshen things up. I think Rodgers will leave but we’ll get big money for him . How do you replace him though? Either way it’s been a great few seasons .

Two, it’s hardly an army of them is it, it never ceases to amaze me how many Sunderland fans I bump into on my travels through work, is that because we got to the FA cup final in 1992? I find it’s normally because of some family connections but that connection is sometimes fairly tenuous, but who cares. Maybe it’s the same with the two that you know of.

Even just thinking how shit they were first 6-7 games this season. Lost the lot without even scoring I believe and looked horrendous. People wanting Emery sacked. How things have changed.
Yep and we were all over them at home, even when we went down to ten men we still created the better chances and looked the more likely to score after we equalised. What a team we have

Should be a lesson to all football fans when it comes to the general impatience these days towards managers whenever they go through a rough patch. Obviously different if they’ve never delivered before, but if one has (especially at your club) the least they deserve is support and time to try and turn it around. Would’ve been bonkers if Villa sacked him in October but I do remember seeing some shite on social media from some of their fans wanting it doing.

You are, undoutedly. A massive, famous old club*. But your fans think you are on Liverpool and Man U level. I think you could have been, and should have been at that level. And you could, with the right backing, get there. But as of yet, nope.

Congrats on the win. Emery to stay?

On a different note, do your players get fed up of Prince William joining their celebrations? I like the bloke but it'd irritate me. 😂

* I wish you'd have kept the old red brickwork as well, if possible, like Rangers did.

When the prem started in 92/93 only Liverpool had won more than Villa so I tend to agree we’ve underachieved a bit and been left way behind even by clubs like City and Chelsea who we were bigger than not all that long ago. We missed the boat too many times. As for William I think the players enjoy it and it’s good to see how passionate he is about Villa. He even attended games in the not so good times. Yes I think Emery stays for now but im not sure how much further he can take us or anyone else for that matter.

I love Ibrox one of my favourite grounds

Thought Villa were excellent in the 4-3 game so not shocked at all they beat Freiburg. Thoroughly deserved as well, in complete control as soon as they scored the first.
