Ashes Squad 2025

Difficult to see the purpose of this white ball serie. Come over without time to acclimatise then back to England for downtime then one warm up game before Ashes. That snacks of arrogance
Surely the test players are flying to Australia from here.
Ollie Robinson. Sigh

What a bowler when fit; should be leading this attack.

Sure some of it is his body letting him down, but he doesn’t seem to be motivated to do it
He’s flying out to play grade cricket in Sydney next week. Wonder if he’s hoping for a call up at some stage :D

logically that should be The case butThe last ODI is Saturday 1st November and the Warm up game v Lions on the 13th November. If they were going straight over there'd surely have been another game programmed during those 12 days.
Could be a golf tournament arranged. :)

Yup. They aren’t flying home for 7 days. Plenty golf pencilled in.

A 3-0 defeat in the one day series in NZ and now the serious stuff starts.

13th November is the warm up game against the Lions, then the 1st test starts on the 21st.

Let's hope they get the correct balance between red ball practise and down time. Nowt wrong with a couple of days of golf then a couple of 1 innings matches with potential test bowlers matched against potential bowlers with Lions squad making up the numbers.

Here we are less than a week from the Ashes and theres no red ball warm up games anywhere near this thread the last few weeks..insane that!

Wetherall, Doggett, Abbott and Marnus all in the Aussie squad for the first test.

Steve Smith (capt), Sean Abbott, Scott Boland, Alex Carey (wk), Brendan Doggett, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis (wk), Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Starc, Jake Weatherald, Beau Webster.

Would imagine those to miss out will be Inglis, Doggett, Abbott and Webster.

Bowling wise they should go with Starc, Hazelwood and Boland, with Cam Green as back-up. I think they'll just use one spinner so that will be Lyon.

Green isn't fit to bowl.Beau Webster is new all-time rounder.

I think Webster is the better option but they are likely to play Lyon now Cummins is out so I don't think they will go for another spin option. I still wouldn't be surprised to see Green at 3 but really they should go:

Khawaja
Wetherald
Labuschagne
Smith
Head
Green/Webster
Carey
Starc
Boland
Lyon
Hazlewood

Have the commentary lineups been announced for Fox Sports and Channel 7? Can’t be doing with the TNT lineup so hoping to use VPN and watch through Aussie TV.

That squad is ancient.
