Well, what can you say?

3 of the top four blown away after playing hideous shots and the nightwatchman battered into defeat. Let's hope Bell can guide the three young and talented players - Ballance, Stokes and Bairstow - into showing some fight and determination. A bit of luck might help as well.
 

The desire of the Australians in the field to prevent runs is yet another aspect of the game which puts our lot to shame.
 
You have to wonder what the future holds for KP. On his day and on form he's one of the best but it just doesn't happen often enough.

A couple of times we've needed him to dig in but it simply isn't in him to do it. Need a huge think about what happens from here, particularly with him and Carberry.

Scotty B has a lot to prove and learn as a leg spinner yet. He was mainly a number three for Durham last year only bowling occasionally.

Still not convinced by Buttler either. Certainly he's a decent short form player but his keeping still needs a lot of work. Prior isn't too far over the hill yet and prior to last summer was averaging 40.

I'd like to think most of the first choice eleven are just out of form but it seems more deep routed than that.

Cooks needs to prove he's a decent captain. It's easy when you're winning.
